Goal Keeper of Russia hit by flare in Euro qualifier

The Euro 2016 qualifier game between Montenegro and Russia was abandoned in the middle of the 2nd half on Friday after 2 outbreaks of crowd trouble and a scuffle between the players.

The game was first temporarily suspended by 33 minutes when an idiot Montenegro fan threw flare that hit Russia goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev on the head. It was thrown from the Montenegro section. Referee Deniz Aytekin stopped the match inside the first minute after the flare struck Akinfeev. Akinfeev dropped to the ground once he was hit and was taken off on a stretcher. He was reportedly knocked unconscious. Substitute Yuri Lodygin played as goal keeper for Russia.

Then at some point in the 2nd half a fight took place between players near the touchline, and then another object was thrown from the fans that hit another Russian player. Montenegro and Russia fans was seen clashing at halftime, riot police move in to to stop them.

According to UEFA they will conduct an investigation and will wait for the reports from the match delegate and referee before opening disciplinary proceedings.
